Thanks for posting those pictures! I haven't seen any of them, and one of the few of my grandpa and the only one of my Uncle Chris altho I vaguely remember him. Thanks to Melinda! They were all so young... My Mom looks so much like Gayle (Lena's daughter).

Grandma I keep meaning to show you these pics, Melinda sent them to me after the last reunion she went to this past summer. I'll also include her words that she sent me with the pictures, though you don't need any of the info I'm sure!

Thanks Aunt Marsha for the package! I have the keychain on my keys! I've seen pretty much all the bacon stuff that's out there, but I've never seen that! I love it! And the bacon chapstick too. :)

Apologies to any early risers this morning who tried to access this page. There was a "temporary disruption of service" in my area that lasted at least four hours this morning. You might have seen yesterday's page, or no page at all. Should be okay now!

Gary, I enjoyed the front page, EXACTLY what happens to me every day at work :). Back to school for four days, going well. Very small classes again, our big class is seven. Teghan I love your glasses. Have you worn glasses before?

I have ZERO craft abilities, so my M is not a pinterest project. There's a lady here that makes them, notice in the Tristen picture I also have a Northeast Rockets one. :-)

Just about time to return to school. Went in today for our annual breakfast/meeting. It was apparently a rough summer. Three teachers were limping and moving pretty slow (also all doped up). One has a fractured vertebrae, one messed up her knee, and the third was in a car accident. Our finance director is to have surgery tomorrow. Not looking like a good start to the year....... Brought some work home for the afternoon and will go in a little tomorrow. Then back at it on Thursday.

Lincoln schools start tomorrow, and the University starts next week. Seems way early! --Gary

How is Tristen doing today?

Doc just came in and said he cauterized 2-3 blood vessels and they held, but there was an actual artery that wouldn't stop bleeding in surgery, so he had to pull the artery out a bit and put 2 metal clips on it. :0 He still thinks she won't feel much pain or have much trouble. Just needs to keep her blood pressure down for the next few days, minimal activity and stress that might raise her BP. He apologized and said he didn't see this artery during surgery, probably became more exposed as she healed and the area reformed. It's a crazy, fluke thing.

Hey everyone, quick update. Tristen just went back into surgery because she had bleeding last night that sent us to the ER. The ENT doc on call came in and suctioned the area because thankfully it stopped bleeding on its own. We went home about 2 am. She slept til 10, we left for haircuts and at the end of my appt the bleeding came back. So we came back to Bryan and our doc had us go straight to admissions and very, very quickly she was surrounded by about 5 people in a tiny room as they got her prepped for surgery. It's not as invasive as before, as they just need to recauterize the vessels that are bleeding, so hopefully this isn't a huge set back, but she's upset to say the least.

Ryan's driving back from KC now. Teghan is with me here.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Tristen is finally turning a corner today I think! It's day 8 & I can see a change in her. She went longer and with less meds yesterday and got to sleep more last night so today we're going to switch to just Tylenol, to try to get off the narcotics, at least during the day. She still has some scabs that need to go and still is on a very soft diet, but I can see the end in sight!!

Good news! --Gary

A week after surgery and Tristen's still pretty homebound. She's still sore, though she's healing just fine, it just takes this long. She is losing the scabs now and that's a new kind of pain. She's frustrated it's taken so long and never wants any kind of surgery again, but she'll be glad someday. Grandma-- we do plan on coming for dinner tomorrow night (unless some crazy surgery related incident occurs), though Tristen can't eat much at all, but she's gotten used to us eating and her not so much. :-( See everyone tomorrow!
