Happy Birthday, Karen!!

Lindsey
5/30/03
I went back to school today finally and I don't have as much homework as I thought but what I do have is hard like writing a long English paper, writing a Social Studies speech, 3 math assignments and a take-home math test but that's it so yeah but I will be done with school on Thursday!! Then that same night we are leaving for Fort Robinson and during that time we are going to drive up and see Mount Rushmore. Congrats Tristen and Emily!

Amanda
5/30/03
Well, it's official! Tristen finished kindergarten! We got her diploma, report card and excellent attendance certificate. She is ready to go to first grade, and to be sure, they sent a packet of things to be working on all summer to get ready, I'm sure we won't be starting that just yet. Congrats Tristen! Everyone, enjoy the summer! It's supposed to get to 105 today, and it is 99 as I type, so we are starting summer today officially I'd say.

Karen
5/30/03
Yipee, done with preschool for another year. Had the graduation and then out early. Emily and Erika are out at 1:00 today. Have NO plans for the summer --- so nice ...... I love my job :)

Here's an update on The Case of the Disappearing Webpage: I now have almost everything restored, with the notable exceptions of all the old review pages, the family photo pages and recent photo page. I'm taking this opportunity to do some re-modeling on those pages so they don't take up so much space. But nothing was lost -- everything is safely backed up and will be restored by sometime next week.

Speaking of next week, "Five Days of Dumb Signs" starts on Monday. They're dumb! They're signs! And there's five days of 'em!

Gary
5/29/03
Wow, I was doing a bit of computer housekeeping today, and accidentally erased ALL of our homepage files! If you had tuned in at just the right moment, you would have seen nothing but a blank page (with an error message). I do have everything backed up, but some of the back-ups are at home, some at my office. I'm in the process of restoring everything now, but it might be a day (or two) before everything is back on the page. So you might notice a few missing elements for a while -- like the backgrounds of some pages, a photo here and there, etc. Stay tuned, I'll have everything back soon!

Way to go on all the awards, Emily. Good luck to you and Lindsey on your dance recitals -- break a leg! :-) And congratulations to all the family scholars for making it through another year!

***EMILY***
5/29/03
Hey everybody, we only have ONE day left of school!!! We got our yearbooks yesterday, and on Tuesday we had a student vs. faculty basketball game. And today we had our Honors and Graduation assembly. I got 7 awards. I got 3 for excellent attitude, 3 for being on the honor roll, and 1 for having a B average for the whole year. I have my dance recital on June 14. Well I gotta go. buh-bye!

Lindsey
5/29/03
Grandma, that's GREAT! I'm glad everything turned out and better than the doctor expected! Great.
I'm home sick again today for the third day in a row now!!!!!! I get bored because there is nothing to do because I'm not sick like I have to stay in bed but still don't want to push it and I'm still feeling a little weak but hopefully better by this weekend because it's my big recital! OK, I am going to go watch TV, bye!

Gary
5/28/03
Hey, seeing as how Mom probably won't make this post, let me bring you all up to date: Her final eye appointment/check-up was this morning, and I understand the doc said everything turned out even better than expected. He said she could actually stop off on the way home and get a driver's license if she wanted. (I offered to take her to the DMV, but she said no.) So there you have it!

Karen
5/28/03
Brent and I are figuring we will get $800 from GW. I heard it was to be given out this summer.

Where's MINE!?!? :-) --Gary

Amanda
5/28/03
Since it looks like Ryan & I will be getting an $800 check this summer because of Tristen & Teghan to boost the economy (?? whatever) I want to know when I'm getting it!! I don't think it will help the unemployment rate, but whatever. And I'm curious to see if anyone sees any "extra" money in their checks after this signing.

Lindsey
5/28/03
Hey everybody home sick again, still not much of a change. Donna, I'm sure I'll go back and we don't have filler activities until the very last day probably because I know that I think we still have another speech to write for Social Studies and Math and Science we pretty much have homework everyday in there. But about my recital it is on June 1st at East High and the time I think it is 12:00 but not quite for sure but I'll call you about it. Geez Tristen, you already have 1 year down of school! You'll be a First-Grader next year! That's neat that your old teacher is coming back! Ok well, I am going to go nap again! Bye.

The cool site today was pretty interesting I thought!

Donna
5/28/03
Amanda, this is a common question from those outside the polling game. ;-) Gallup would never do a volunteer poll because it would not be scientific. It's poor methodology to hear opinions of only those that want to give it. We just have to get used to the idea that most Americans are stupid.

Donna
5/27/03
Hey Lindsey, sorry to hear you're sick. Weird getting sick so close to the end of the year. What will happen if you don't go back? I would bet you are all done and they're just doing 'filler' activities now anyway. You have to save your energy for this weekend's performance. BTW, when and where? I plan to yell something at you when you're on stage. Remember when Olivia liked to say "I like wedgies"? For some reason I was thinking of that today. Maybe I can talk Olivia into yelling something like that when you're doing your dance routine.

Amanda
5/27/03
On today's cool site how come there isn't a volunteer poll? I would take it. Also, why don't I get called for Bush Approval rating polls? Apparently they only have Dub supporters on their autodialer. Donna, is there some quality control department there to look into this?? :)

Amanda
5/27/03
Thanks Linz! Today is Tristen's last full day of school. Tomorrow she goes at 8 but then from 9-11 they have a carnival, which I am going to help with, then Thursday and Friday they get out an hour early! Also, this week her old teacher Mrs. Davidson is coming to see them while she gets all her stuff out of the room (she left everything there for them to finish out the school year). So it will be a good last week for her. I start back to school on Monday, I'm not quite ready to go back, but it is a Political Science class so it should go well.

Lindsey
5/27/03
Hey everybody and Amanda since you e-mailed me about this -- my Dad's e-mail was changed to Paul655@allel.net because windstream said that there already was a Paul614 so now email to the 655 one because he can't get on the other one. windstream never told him either so if you have sent him anything to his other one, sorry because he hasn't gotten it but the rest of the family's are still the same.

I have made the change on the contact page. Thanks, Lindsey! --Gary

Lindsey
5/27/03
Hey everybody! I am home from school today because I have a nasty cold and am not feeling good. But it's about 10:00 and I've been up for about oh say 10 minutes but not feeling much better. The worst thing about last night was I woke up at like 2:30 and then from then to about 5:00 I would not be able to go to sleep I would be so close to falling asleep and then I would wake up and I was so tired though but I just couldn't fall asleep. I hated that! But yesterday we had fun anyways. Me, Dad, Mom, Olivia, Sean, and Lauren went to the Olive Garden for my Mom's birthday and that was good. Ok, well I am going to go take another nap, Bye!

Amanda
5/26/03
Yep, Lindsey, I was telling Ryan that same story while I was eating the delicious wrap!! That was fun, especially the $40, I always look for $$ in Applebee's parking lots now.

Lindsey
5/26/03
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Lindsey
5/26/03
Amanda-that sandwich sounds soooooooooooooo good! I remember I was there when you tried the Oriental Chicken Salad because I was up there for a week in Omaha and I had gotten that and you didn't like yours and had some of mine and then we went back the next night and you got that too. The night we found 40 dollars! That was fun! Thank you Tristen!

Karen
5/26/03
Happy Memorial Day! We are all enjoying our day off. Went to Wausa on Saturday and did all the family graves. Spent most of yesterday shopping and today we are relaxing! Last week of school for us. Emily has a fun week coming up -- went rollerskating on Friday, Tuesday is a basketball game with the teachers, Wednesday they have an autograph party for their yearbooks, Thursday is graduation and a dance and Friday she gets out at 1:00. Erika's week isn't as fun, but she did get a pizza party on Friday, Track and Field Day on Wednesday and an Art Party on Thursday. So it's winding down.
Hey Sean what is a sand blaster? Looks like a cool project, just not sure what you do with it now :)
The pool in Texas looks great! I love the picture of Teghan.

Tristen & Teghan

Gary

New photos from TX! Looks like the funnest backyard in Iowa Park. :-)

Lindsey
5/23/03
Hey all! Just seeing how everybody is doing and I didn't do as well as I would've thought although I never do. I liked Teghan's answers because there's always at least one I can get (I hope). I'm still really tired because last night (Thursday) I had dance from 4:30 to about 7:30. I didn't dance the whole time but we practiced the first part of our ballet and just went over it and over it! Tiring just sitting there and watching them and dancing and then sitting then dancing!!!!!!! But ALL my recitals are next weekend except I have my cheerleading thing on Sunday and I have rehearsal tonight. But then I will be over with dance until school starts again unless I am taking summer classes which I'm not sure yet. OK, well I better go to school! Bye

Lindsey
5/22/03
Just to let you all know my Dad did not show me his answers so I am not as dimwitted as you may think

Thanks Dad :)

Paul
5/22/03
I know it's been a while since we've checked in, we have had internet problems, and are in the process of changing E-mail addresses, long story. And just plain been busy. Just got home and checked the Who am I. It's so easy when you have the answers. But I don't think I would have done too well. I had Teghan DOWN. Amanda and me did sound a little alike.
And rub it in too Linz, I think she read mine before I sent it in. Glad to hear you are feeling better Marsh, wish I was closer to help with the fence, sure it will be nice.
Kinda quiet here tonight, Ole buddy Livy is on her Third Grade camp-out at Carol Joy Holly (near Platte River Park) camp until tomorrow.
Details to follow.

Marsha
5/22/03
Boy, being sick for a week really took me out of the Homepage loop! The nasty bug is just about gone from me, thank heavens. I'm sorry that I missed the Who Am I, but it sure sounded difficult. Sean, I'm really proud of the work you did on whatever that is that you made. Also, your basement/computer room/game room looks awesome. Our latest project was to rip out the back old red fence to make room for the yet to be installed chain link fence. It was a great pleasure to tear it out! We're also putting up a picket (French Gothic) in the front garden, hopefully before and after pics to come. Would love to see Donna's pictures of her back yard that got a makeover from her and Grandma. Also want to see Amanda's birthday picture from the restaurant. Isn't it great to have an entire restaurant sing to you? On my 50th birthday with my friends at the local Irish pub, the whole place sang to me, it helped that an Irish group was there to play that night. Nice grades too Amanda. Erika is sure hobnobbing with Sioux City elite with her super award.

Donna
5/22/03
Teghan's answer's were the funniest, but Sean's line about "looking forward to each new day" was my next favorite. What a goof.

Amanda
5/22/03
I gained a huge interest in History after this past semester. I think it is all about the teacher. I had the Dean of the Liberal Arts department as my teacher for American History from 1865 to the start of WW2. I loved that class. If I could take all my history classes from him I would consider a minor in History. And my only A this semester was this History class. And on my last Who Am I? I said I would like to talk to Fred Durst, looking back, that was a dumb choice. I was confused about my dad when he said he wanted to travel more. I hope he means out of the midwest... Also, the quoting movie lines, I thought that was Sean. I guess its good to get him confused with Sean & I though. Unlike me, I came down to two unanswered profiles and my dad & Emily were the two people I had confused. I got him right, but not Emily. Ryan did most of it on his own, I just helped him read between the lines, like for grandmas COOL summer, I pointed out that it might not mean cool as in awesome, but rather, cool weather...

Donna
5/22/03
Thank you! This is quite an honor. I'm happy to share the title with Ryan, although I'm a little disappointed to hear he had help with his. I would have had a perfect score if Amanda would have answered honestly. Since when do you like history and FDR? That sounded way too much like Paul. Quoting Tommy Boy and Subway on Paul's sounded like you too. Darn it.
BTW, I chose Munchies not chocolate as favorite snack because to me chocolate is not a junk food, it's one the 4 basic food groups.

Amanda
5/22/03
Bravo, bravo Donna & Ryan. PS Ryan, you are welcome for the help in choosing a few of those!

Karen
5/22/03
Yikes! I did lousy this time with Who Am I -- and I thought it was going to be easy......

Gary
5/21/03
I know I said I'd be posting the "Who Am I" results on Saturday, but I'm thinking all the players have played. No responses have come in over the past 24+ hours, so I'll be posting what results I have tomorrow (Thursday). Check back then!

Amanda
5/20/03
GREAT cool site today!! Loved it, I hope Sean saw it...

Amanda
5/20/03
My answers are in... It's pretty bad when it comes down to two, a male adult and a female under 18 and you can't figure out which is which! We are finally getting some MUCH NEEDED rain here today. It started getting WINDY last night and it dropped about 40 degrees, we topped out well into the 90's yesterday and now as I type it is 54. It started raining about 4 AM and hasn't let up since. We needed it SOOO bad, I hope it keeps up! It feels great, and dark...

Donna
5/20/03
I just submitted my answers. Yowza, that was hard. I'm not even sure if I recognized me. Some of the answers were better than the ones I gave. Pretty sure I got Lindsey, Sam and Teghan correct. But Tristen was the last name on my list this time and the only blank spot was not her. So I had to do some rearranging. I think I did pretty good. But we'll see. So Gary, now does anyone have a perfect score?

A couple of you have gotten next-to-perfect scores (i.e., switching only two names), but sadly -- having heard from Donna, Emily, Erika, Grandma, Karen, Lindsey, and Ryan -- there are no perfect scores in yet! --Gary

Gary
5/20/03
When was the last time you checked the projects and reviews and countdown pages...?

Lindsey
5/20/03
Yeah that Who Am I was a tough one! I guess the questions didn't really tell anything about the person maybe, I don't know. And I think the changing your answers from before because a lot of people said they wouldn't change theirs so if they said that well then that wasn't really any help. But I still like playing them!

Karen
5/19/03
I just submitted my Who Am I answers (is there a perfect score now?). I thought this was an easier one this time -- which probably means I didn't get anyone right.

Let's just say I still haven't received a perfect score. :-) --Gary

Karen
5/19/03
I did just hear on the news that Ari is leaving in July. Not sure I will miss him.
Erika had a great day yesterday. She received her award from the museum (handed to her by the Mayor). There were about 50 kids getting the awards. There were a lot of people there. Including two news crews. No interviews of Erika, but they did have a long shot of her city hall. Digital pictures didn't turn out too well, but I'll to get some other ones on soon.

Amanda
5/19/03
Anyone else see Ari Fliesher is resigning? Darn....

Donna
5/19/03
Happy Birthday, Brent!

Gary
5/19/03
Several "Who Am I" guesses have come in over the weekend, but so far no perfect scores. (This IS a tough one!) Best score so far is two wrong. Please get your guesses in by Friday at the latest. Results will go up Saturday. I thank you!

I took a look at the Who Am I? and it IS tough!

Gary
5/17/03
Okay, windstream let me through finally, after some more early evening problems. I did call tech support, and this time they took the hit: said the problem was theirs, and they were working on it. Anyhoo, the "Who Am I" is up, and I think this one might be kind of tough!

Karen
5/16/03
Ryan, get that scanner hooked up -- I would pay to see that picture :)
Nice, nice day here today, sunny and about 65. Erika's reception at the musuem is Sunday. Brent's mom and sister are coming to see it. I did try to get on the webpage this morning and saw that is was still yesterdays. Always wonder if it's a technical problem or if Gary is sick. Nice to know it was just windstream. Did anyone see the lunar eclispe? I didn't stay up late enough. Anxious to see the answers for Who Am I -- don't wait for Brent - he has declined this time.....

Too cloudy to see the eclipse here, though I did simulate it on my computer (with a very nice astronomy program called Starry Night). Hopefully, windstream will let me on tonight so I can post the "Who Am I" profiles... if they're not up when you look at the page tomorrow, just check back. I'll get 'em up somehow! --Gary

Gary
5/16/03
You early risers may have noticed this morning that, according to this webpage, it was still Amanda's birthday. That's because windstream once again wouldn't let me access this page from home all last evening, so I couldn't make any updates or changes. I had thought it was the address issue I mentioned earlier on this newsletter, but that wasn't it. Looks like I gotta call tech support again. Aaarrrrgghh!

And now a note to Anna, Brent, Lori, Marsha, Olivia, and Zachary, or any relatives of theirs: These are the last final few hours before I assemble the next "Who Am I" so if you wanna play, ya gotta do it today!

Amanda
5/15/03
Thanks for the birthday greetings all! I had a great birthday. I got two beautiful, HUGE flower arrangements, roses from Ryan and a red white and blue arrangement with snapdragons, carnations and daisies from my mom. I also got a gift certificate to a spa here in town from Ryan and the girls. Tonight we went to a restaurant we had never been to and it was SO much fun. We vowed to take everyone that visits there. It's called Samurai of Tokyo. It is a Japanese Steakhouse with the Hibachi grills that cook in front of you. We had soup first, then salad, then a shrimp appetizer, then hibachi grilled fried sticky rice, then our entrees. I had chicken and shrimp, Tristen & Teghan had chicken, and Ryan had halibut. We opted out of the sushi and saki, though next time we may go for some saki. It was great. However, they overheard Tristen say it was my birthday and they brought out a sarong deal and a big orange origami hat and made me stand up and wear it while the whole room sang to me and they took a polaroid of it. Ryan says his mission now is to get the scanner working to send it out. It was a great birthday!!

Amanda
5/15/03
Be sure to watch the special show the moon is putting on for me tonight. The lunar eclipse starts at 11:14 tonight! It will last for 53 minutes they say. A neat story about it is here...

Gary
5/15/03
Down to the wire, y'all! (And by y'all, I mean Anna, Brent, Lori, Marsha, Olivia, and Zachary.) If I don't get your "Who Am I's" by sometime tomorrow, you won't have the opportunity to have your personal details displayed on the world-wide web! Use the buddy system: Lindsey, get Livy! Sam, get Anna and your mom! etc! The profiles will go up Saturday so get ready to guess. :-)

Lindsey

Amanda
5/14/03
I finally got my grades. An A in History (out of 75 students, only about 10 got an A), a B in Accounting, a B in the Business class, and a stinkin C in Algebra. So my GPA for the semester is a 3.0. Not bad I guess, but not dean's list... Anyhow, who cares, it could have been worse!!

Gary
5/14/03
We had a really nice (though too short!) thunderstorm last evening, complete with a big beautiful rainbow at the end.

Got a few more "Who Am I" entries yesterday. Still time, though, for Anna, Brent, Lori, Marsha, Olivia, and Zachary to jump in!

Karen
5/14/03
Hi, It has been quiet. Not much going on in SC. Been rainy, rainy. Foggy this morning. Only 7 days of preschool and 12 days of school for the girls :)

Just wanted to say hi, it is quiet on here lately! No one for days!! Except Gary, if that counts...

Hey!! :-) --Gary

5/13/03
Here's my daily "Who Am I" reminder. Grandma is now on board (boy, I never would have guessed her favorite junk food is....ooops!), so we're still holding the doors open for Anna, Brent, Donna, John, Lori, Marsha, Olivia, and Zachary. Hey Sam, wake up the rest of your family! :-)

Gary
5/12/03
The "Who Am I" game is going strong. Judging by the profiles that have already come in, this should be a very interesting game! So far I've gotten responses from just over half of us: Amanda, Emily, Erika, Gary, Karen, Lindsey, Paul, Ryan, Samantha, Sean, Tristen, and Teghan. So if your name is Anna, Brent, Donna, Grandma, John, Lori, Marsha, Olivia, or Zachary and you want to play this round of "Who Am I," please get your responses in by, say, Thursday. That way I can put the profiles together and get them on the webpage by Saturday so you can start guessing this weekend. C'mon, it's only 10 questions, and there are no wrong answers! :-)

Lindsey
5/11/03

The Who Am I? was fun again... I liked changing my profile answer. Marsha, we enjoy hockey, though Nebraska just got its teams a few short years ago, and Wichita Falls just got theirs last year, and all its players are from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Actually, our neighbors daughter dates one of them, though he just went north for the summer during the off season. The games are a BLAST to go to, I recommend it to anyone, even if you don't get hockey. And Ryan loves the Minnesota Wild sweatshirt you guys got him, he wore it a lot after Christmas, though now it is tucked away for a LONG (I'm afraid) hot summer. Speaking of no activity here lately, I wondered where Donna had been, last time she spoke up was sometime in April!!

Lindsey
5/9/03
I just got done with my Who Am I and it didn't seem like as many questions as usual but maybe it's just me. A lot of good questions though! I have my dance pictures tonight from 7:40 to about 9:15! But at least I will have all of them done! My dance recital is on June 1st and I do cheerleading and that is a different time and I'm not sure which might not be good thing because it will probably sneak right up on me. Ok, well I have to go get ready. Bye!

Gary
5/9/03
Has anybody besides me been having trouble getting on our webpage recently? I've been getting frequent "page not found" errors. So I finally called tech support yesterday and they helpfully informed me they had changed our (and every other windstream customer's) web address, and that the changeover was probably causing the problem. "You mean you just changed everyone's address without telling us?" I asked. "...Well, they were supposed to send out an email; didn't you get it...?" No, I didn't get it. windstream used to have pretty good customer service....

Anyway, it's supposed to work even if you use the old address -- it just re-directs you to the new address after a micro-second or two. But if you keep having trouble getting on, like I was this past week, you should change your bookmarks to our new web address:
Old address: www.windstream.net/~ga55637
New address: home.windstream.net/ga55637

By the way, some "Who Am I" profiles have already come in. Some interesting answers! This should be a good one. My answers are so totally and obviously me that I'm sure I'll be the easiest pick on the list -- but then, I think that every time. Have fun!

Gary
5/9/03
Something new on the projects page. Air hockey--one of the funnest games ever! :-) Sean actually sent this in several days ago, but I misfiled his email and didn't notice it until just now. Sorry, Sean!

Hawk Mania!!

Marsha
5/8/03

It's thundering and raining here, a big storm is coming. We've been engrossed in our Wild Hockey team playing in the finals, very exciting, but I don't think anyone else in the family is interested in hockey, are you? School is starting to wind down and work for John has been pretty busy and stressful with some deaths and illnesses. My garden is looking good, need some dry days to put in a flat of lovely plants. Happy Mothers Day Mom, Lori, Karen, Amanda and Donna (we think of Mojo as a nephew.)

Amanda
5/8/03
Oh, and dry as all get out. Send some of that rain you are getting this way, its BAAADD here!

Amanda
5/8/03
It is freakin' 99 degrees here! It's 6:30 PM on May 8th for crying out loud. I HATE Texas, I am NOT going to last this summer.

Grandma
5/7/03
No, the computer hasn't crashed--just me. I have been really tired, and think it is the let down from last month, I may have stressed a little more than I thought, however, I am slowly returning to wanting to do a few things. Been sleeping long and often. Mowed the front yard this p.m. and expanded the flower bed around the bird bath, not done with it but it's getting there. (Ryan, where are you?) Getting some nice rains and it really shows. Karen, your pictures of the girls are really good. Better keep your eye on Emily, she is growing up and so pretty. Of course all the grandkids are pretty - and Handsome. Was surprised Coleen Seng made it but was happy she did. I did go down to vote. Get new glasses tomorrow, then I am going to try my hand at sewing again. I have no news but am alive and well. Sorry you are having trouble getting into summer school, Amanda, some folks would view that as a good thing. Bet you did well on the rest of your finals. Congratulations Ryan!!

Hey everybody! 30 days until I get out of school. Olivia and I just bought a new PS2 game and it's called Dance Dance Revolution and yes it has Dance it in twice. It's not a typo. But anyways, you have a mat and then you pick out a song and they have 100s of songs and then the arrows go by and you hit them on the mat and it is a really really fun game! Yeah, Grandma, how is that new computer working out for you?

Well, I'm done this semester. Finally. But I am having troubles with this school again. Trying to get in for summer classes and they are very non compliant. I hate this school. Texas is dumb. I noticed no one had been very chatty. I figured grandma would, with that new computer of hers, unless it crashed already, I sure hope not.

I don't think it's been 5 days since anyone has put something on the web page. There seem to a couple of things missing from Amanda and me, but still it has been quiet. I guess everyone is busy now that is it getting nicer weather. Only 9 days of preschool left for me and 18 days of school for Emily and Erika. Starting to think of ideas for the summer and not finding too much. Colleen Seng won the mayor race, that is a surprise. I think Brent worked on one of her first campaigns. Erika and I went to the museum yesterday to see her model. The reception is the 18th -- anyone intested in coming, let us know :) Emily has dance pictures tonight. Recital will be June 14th. She is dancing to Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend. Looking forward to the Who Am I -- they are always fun!! I found another interesting "frontier house" type of show last night. I think it's called Pioneer Quest -- it's on PSB. Two couples living as pioneers for one year -- if they make it the whole year without cheating they get $100,000.

Ooops, you are right about the five days. I didn't think that sounded right, either... What happened was, I backed up the wrong file and lost three items (Emily, Karen, and Amanda...now restored). Sorry about that. Thanks for being observant! --Gary

Wow, I don't think we've had five days go by without a comment on this page for quite a while! Maybe the next "Who Am I?" will liven things up. Watch for it on Friday!

P.S. Lincoln elected a Democrat for Mayor yesterday! There's hope! :-)

2 finals down, 2 to go. I had my Algebra final Saturday morning at 8 AM (yuck, I know, who wants math at 8 AM on a weekend) and then accounting later that day at 2. Those were my two worst classes, so I am glad to have them out of the way. I got my final course grade for one of them, Algebra, with a C. I don't like it, but I'll take it, this has been a rough semester, and I hate math, I will accept being average at math. Tomorrow I have History and Wednesday I have Business. I am signing up for summer classes, and possibly fall classes, tomorrow I hope. Not much, just enough this summer to get me up to 60 credits, which finally puts me at junior status. I've been a stinking sophomore for 2 years now, I'm sick of it! The major dilema is over, Political Science is the final major choice for me. I hated business, the only reason I did it was because I thought I would have a better chance at getting a job, which I'm sure I would have but, not if I got less than my potential grades. SO... Other than that, we are all doing good here. Tristen has 4 weeks of school left, and she can't wait. I don't think she knows what she can't wait for, but she is excited. Ryan took his final today and should be getting his grade and his associates degree diploma anytime now! Congrats to Ryan!!

The slumber party is over!! Five girls showed up, one had other plans and left at 10. So 5 were left for the night. About 2 I heard a knock at my bedroom door, and a voice saying "I need to go home". So we were soon down to 4 kids. I imagine we will be needing naps this afternoon......

Hey everybody I found out when my dance performances are. All of them are near the end of May. Then for 3 days straight I have to stay at East High School (that's where we have our performance) ALL DAY! For all my dances I pretty much have to just stay there. Also I have pictures next week on A FRIDAY night from like 7:00-9:15! OK, well I gotta go to school. Bye

Hello everyone. It's been hard because our computer has been down so we are kind of out of the loop but I kind of read the whole month's newsletter and Amanda and Karen your kitchens look nice. Grandma I hope you like your new computer. OK, well I have to go to school. We are studying Greece and today is our Greek Olympics day and all day we are just in the gym and stuff doing the kind of events only smaller of what they did. OK, well I have to go to School, bye!

I'm no career politician, homeland security advisor, or head of the Department of Defense. But, I think that ending 2 wars, prematurely it seems, (on the same day no less) against 2 very bad men out to get Americans who have yet to be found, on the same day because Dubya's campaigning will start soon is just bad business. Feels a bit scary, like we let our guard down so he could get reelected, and Osama and Saddami (as Tristen calls him) could be meeting right now.

Plus, things aren't quite as "peaceful" in Iraq as Dub wants us to believe. There is already some new anti-American demonstrating going on over there. "Saddami" -- I like that! :-) --Gary

I like Amanda's idea for a question of the day -- good idea. Erika had a great birthday. She listened to the crocs several times :) Anxiously awaiting her slumber party tomorrow night. She invited 6 girls and it looks like they can all make it. So it will be a long night for the rest of us. We got lots of rain yesterday. Thundered most of the night and over an inch of rain, cool today. Happy May Day everyone!! We will be delivering baskets to the neighbors later today.

I have an idea for a new addition of sorts. Like a question of the day proposed by someone here, something you don't know, would like to know, and think someone else on this page might know. Like for instance (and I really don't know this, and hope someone else does) when comics visit on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, do they have to wait for his permission to join him on the couches, like with Carson?

I've got meetings all day today, tonight, and tomorrow morning, so newsletter updates may be kinda slow for that time. Fair warning!
