Yes, I agree the Thunderbirds were great, and it was windy and I too got sunburned. Tristen got sun too despite the lotion, we had to give her a lukewarm bath and then put aloe on. She also said grandma grue made her ear plugs with toilet paper. However, the Thunderbirds have been in Nebraska in the last 15 years. They were at our airshow at Offutt last year. The Lincoln Air Guard has not been able to get them to come back in 15 years. Anyhow, it was a great time, not too hot like most are, but the sun was out! We got some good pictures, so I will try to post them on here.

Sean's email address changed quite awhile ago and I was looking for the email that he sent out, but could not find it, although I am sure he sent it to you. He has been with MSN since November I would say. It is:
Layinflat93@msn.com

Hmmm, I don't remember seeing his change-of-address email. Anyway, thanks! Sean's address has now been fixed on the Contact page. --Gary

Gary
4/25/2001
Attention Sean (or anyone else that may know): Have you changed your email address? A note I sent to your Layinflat93@aol.com address keeps bouncing back to me with a "User Unknown" message. Any updated info appreciated!

Every day I will post up how many days I have left. My last days are going to be pretty exciting! First we have Chemistry which is fun. We do that for 3 weeks. Anyway, then we are doing a big project called "Landmarks of Lincoln"! We all have partners and we pick a landmark of Lincoln and do a big research project. It goes until May 26 or something. My friend Haley and I are doing the National Guard. So then when we get all our reports written, we put a presentation together. Her mom works at the National Guard and she is going to get us some stuff we could use for our presentation. Then we go on a field trip for landmarks of Lincoln. We visit Val's and KFRX/KOLN station. We also visit some other interesting places. Then a couple days after that, we go on another big field trip. We go all the way to Grand Island and Aurora! There are parent drivers and my mom is driving with my friend Haley's mom. Half of the people go to Grand Island while the other half goes to Aurora. Then we meet in the middle at Valentinos and eat and then we switch! It will be really cool. And last but not least, on the last day of school from 1:00 to about 3:15 we get to go to Skate Zone and go skating! It will be really cool. I will keep you up to date on "MY LAST DAYS AT KAHOA." Bye! :)

Amanda

Since my first posting with my days left disappeared I will post it again. You know I am learning how to create web pages, if Webmaster Gary doesnt watch whose stuff he cuts he may be out of a job. :)
7 days left!

Sorry; another problem making back-ups. In trying to keep the webpage timely, I update the newsletter page from home as well as my computer at work. That means keeping duplicate sets of files in both places and sometimes an older file gets updated rather than the newer one. Let me know when you/if you see it happen, and I'll try to recover it. --Gary

Way to go Amanda!! I have 28 days left! Then I will officialy be a 6th grader. Sam, how is Helga? I don't think a rat is so bad. I stayed home from school today. Had a ruff day. First I had a bad bug thing, then I had an eye appointment and I couldn't see good and still can't very well, then last I got two shots, something about my immuniton or something like that. I am feeling better though. I have to get glasses for reading. Ugh! The optomitrist said I am a little bit farsighted. He said I get some eyestrain because I read a lot and I am on the computer a lot. Well, I will talk to you later. Bye! :)

Amanda
4/23/2001
Only 8 days left of class for me! And then I am officially a sophomore!

Hi everybody, back from Calyfonia. Had a good trip, long, drove through Salt Lake City. Boy what a great place to have the Olympics. Really pretty city.
Boy Tristen, you must really must be Marsha's favorite niece.
After a two road game slide by the Cornhusker Bank Basketball team, the lady huskers roared back with an 18 to 12 win over the improving Sports Courts team. Starter Lindsey Anderson helped her team to a 9 to 2 1st quarter lead, but the Sports Court team came back strong to lead 12 to 9 with 4:00 left to play. Key baskets late in the game including at shot a the buzzer gives the Huskers the win.

4/21/2001
Erika had a slumber party for her birthday last night. She invited 4 girls, and they were soooooooooo hyper and annoying all night!!!!! And we had to do the pinata in the basement because it started to rain. Last night they got really scared because they thought someone was going to break into the house!! I can't wait until they leave!!!!!

Donna
4/20/2001
Amanda, you just got a free car! That's amazing. Several years ago my Subaru got a lot of hail damage and I got a nice check to have it fixed too. But before I got around to it, all the damage was gone. I've heard that can happen when you leave your car out in the hot sun, the little divits just pop up and you can't even tell there was any damage. Okay, Sean and Ryan would be able to tell. But I preferred having the money instead.

Amanda
4/20/2001
Don't you all wish you would have been in Omaha on April 10th? The day that night came at noon. That was the day of non-stop thunderstorms and HAIL. I just got back from my good ol State Farm adjustor where they had all of us hail damaged people stream lined through a set of garages. Apparently mine was so bad on my little car that they wanted to total it out! Instead I opted to keep the car since it is only cosmetic damage (and not that bad) SO, I walked away with a check for more than I paid for the car! I knew I put full coverage on that thing for some reason! No loan and I am making money off of it....

Amanda
4/20/2001
I personally am not a big fan of rats, however when Sean & I were kids we went through our string of pets, and we always had to get 2, one for each of us. Well, one set of pets were mice.... Tristen loves Chicken Butt, Templeton & Amy so they can't be all that bad. But, you will leave it home when coming to visit, right???

Gary
4/20/2001
Yeah, I have to admit the Rats Rule page made them seem like good pets, and the Living With Rats section was pretty funny! (Except for the parts about their illnesses.) But still -- do wash your hands, Sam!

Donna
4/20/2001
You know I used to think aligators were really ugly, but after seeing a few up close, I've changed my mind. I now think they are very cute. So, Sam, I can bet that Helga is cute and will make a nice pet. Not for me, of course. I'm sticking with cats. I really like the name Helga. But can we give her a nickname of Chicken Butt? I kinda like that name too.

Samantha
4/19/2001
Hey you mean people, stop making so many mean comments on my sweet rat named Helga. She is not a sewer rat you know. Did you know rats are very intelligent? I guess not! If anyone is going to dis my rat for sure my mom won't send you a million dollars. Thanks to the people who didn't say anything nasty about sweet little Helga and you know who you are. I will send you pictures of sweet little Helga soon. You guys really hurt my feelings and made me and Helga want to cry. (J/K, we can take that stuff and you will see how sweet a rat is.)

Lindsey
4/19/2001
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEBPAGE!!!! A rat????

Amanda
4/19/2001
No kidding! Well, Happy Birthday Webpage!

Amanda
4/19/2001
Is it the anniversary of the Penny?

Nope. Nobody else has guessed it either, so I'll answer the question now: Today is the first anniversary of The Anderson-Hatgidakis-Metcalf-Nelson Webpage. Woo-hoo! :-) --Gary

Amanda
4/19/2001
So has anyone gone out and rented any of the movies I have reviewed since using the Blockbuster DVD Pass? I rent my last one today, and should be posting 2 more reviews and then I am done. I was just curious to see if anyone else benefited from us using that thing and torturing ourselves with a movie a day for like 45 days.....

Yes! Rented at least one and added several to "the list." Thanks for your hard work watching all those movies -- we salute you! :-) --Gary

Gary
4/19/2001
Sam, I'm with Karen on this one. "Orkin" is a great name. Or how about "Typhoid," or "Lab Rat," or "Vermin"! :-) If you don't like any of those, go to AtoZPets Pet Names, or to Pet Names. And if you'd like to see a webpage devoted to rats as pets (shudder), go to Rats Rule (which also has a list of rat-names). Have fun! And be sure to wash your hands.

Karen
4/19/2001
Hey Sam I have an idea for your "pet" rat how about calling him Orkin????? I can't believe your Mom lets you have a rat for a pet!!! GROSS!! And by the way, how come Tristen gets a million dollars from her and I didn't get anything???? No fair!

Tristen
4/19/2001
My babysitter has 3 rats, my mom doesnt let me play with them and they are upstairs so I dont get to see them, but I named one of them all by myself. His name is Chicken Butt. The other one is Templeton (like Charlottes Web) and the other one is Amy.

Samantha
4/18/2001
Hi! Today I got a rat! It is blackish gray and it's a girl. I still haven't picked a name for her. But for now I've been calling her Baby. If any of you have any ideas for names tell me but don't send it to my e-mail cuz I usually don't check it. Wow, Tristen your lucky you got a million dollars from my mom for your birthday. Cuz I never get that much for my birthday.

Lindsey
4/18/2001
WOW! I wish I got a million dollors for my birthday!

Tristen
4/17/2001
Thanks for coming to my party everyone. I got a candy game that I played on Sunday. I also got a cool swimmin suit. I also got a baby. Thanks for doing my party. Thanks for saying my happy birthday song. I say "mmm... thank you for the presents I like." I got a check from Marsha for million dollars. If you gotta go home, if somebody spent the night at your house don't forget to say bye at your friends house.

Emily
4/17/2001

Lindsey
4/16/2001

Paul
4/11/2001
Hey sorry but our internet was down for the weekend so we have not seen the results of the Who's who, So here goes for the questions. Emily and Erika, The second tallest building in Lincoln is the main telephone building with a cell tower that extends over the street, I had a chance to sneak up there one nite and I took it. Quite a view at nite. And by the way if there was a tornado warning, what was your Dad doing in the watchtower!!!! Marsha, I am with you, The Erika-Emily name thing really threw me. They got me with that one. But not like the free trip thing, I knew better than that, not!! And Marsha, really it's never to late to start a new career, trapeze artist, you can do it! I'll sell the tickets.

Amanda
4/11/2001
And that is why Erika's scariest movie was Twister.....

Emily & Erika
4/11/2001
We had a tornado warning today at about 2:00, one was seen about 18 miles south of sioux city. I had to stay in a tiny bathroom for 45 minutes!!! Erika was at recess when the tornado sirens went off they had to go up to our classrooms and put our coats away, then go to the basement. Mom came to pick me up but they wouldn't let her leave!!!! Dad went up to the clock tower and just watched it!!!! But of course the kittys slept through the whole thing.

Marsha
4/8/2001
The latest personality test was sure a fun challenge. How does Mom do it? Brent was also outstanding, and I kind of remember that Afro look he sported. Emily and Erika, I guess I chose Moon Unit because I've really had lots of different names in my life starting with Marsha and when I joined the Order, I became Sr. Ruth, and then Rev. Rachel and of course in school I was known as Moose, Moosie, or Moose Head. Then, I became a Hatgidakis on top of everything else! So, maybe Moon Unit would just be too hard to change to anything else. As far as being a trapeze artist, it's the first thing I ever remember what I wanted to do when I was a really little kid, about 4 or 5. I was at the circus with our cousins, the Robbins, and I told my Aunt Eileen that I wanted to be in the circus and do what that lady was doing on the flying trapeze. Boy, I thought she was going to smack me! She told me I'd better never get up there and try that! So much for smashing a kid's dream. But now on to you Emily, you really threw me when you said you wanted to be called Erica, I figured Erika wanted to be called Erica. It was smart of your parents not to have named you both Erika and Erica though. Way to go Raul and Karen (or Jessica, or whatever.)

Amanda
4/8/2001
Sorry, I panicked at the end, pretty much just started guessing. Here is an idea for Who Am I III: One saying or word I used to say A LOT~ (like maybe if you were a flower child you said groovy a lot)..... Whaddya think?

Emily and Erika
4/7/2001
Hey Marsha why do you want to be called MOON UNIT, and be a Circus trapeze Artist??????
And Paul 1st of all what is the 2nd tallest building in Lincoln, and why did you clinb to the top?????
Amanda Why did you think I was Zorba??????
Lindsey why do want a new car when you won't even be able to drive for 4 Years????
And Amanda we will look for the picture of dad with his afro.
Bye

Erika
4/7/2001
I am not afraid of Twister anymore, but last summer I was scared of tornados.

Gary (David)
4/7/2001
Okay, I'll answer mine and ask a few more that have been forwarded to me. Jail time occurred in the early '70s, when the Vietnam war was still hot. I was a draft resistor, and when I didn't obey my induction notice I got arrested by two FBI agents. They took me to the Federal building, and off and on through the processing (fingerprints, mug shot, etc.) I was locked in a cell -- no more than two or three hours. Then released on my own recognizance until trial. Okay, Erika, why is "Twister" your scariest movie? And Samantha: why "Haven"?? :-)

Amanda
4/7/2001
All right, Zorba, who is Lash La Rue? And Raul, I'd like a posting of the afro. And David, jail time: when, where and why? Michelle, we gotta watch Bugs Bunny together, it sounds GREAT! And why, WHY would people guess 2 minors as having 11 cars!!!

Gary
4/6/2001
Hey, Harry Potter fans! Would you like to see the preview...? Click here, and then under "View Trailer" click on High or Low (Low is better for slower computers). To see the preview you will have to have QuickTime installed. You can download it from the above page -- it's free. If you don't want to download it, you can still see a whole bunch of photos from the preview. (But the preview is better!)

Donna
4/5/2001
Congratulations Lindsey on your big win. I hope you go all the way! Go Cornhusker Bank!!!

Amanda
4/4/2001
How about, "when is your birthday & how old will you be on the next one"....

Emily
4/4/2001
I REALLY do like this game it is fun, but it is WAY TOO HARD!!!!!!! Hey Gary are going to make a 3rd game so you will be able to play? Bye
I'm working on "Who Am I #3" right now, but I haven't figured out yet a way for me to play too. But I think I probably can. If you (or anybody else reading this) has an idea for some questions, please email them to me. I already have some ideas for easier questions -- like this one: "How do you spell your name?" :-) --Gary

Lindsey
4/4/2001
Yes we won our game. But I only play wing on Defense, I play 4 or base runner on Offense. Very close game 14-13! 2 and 0 and we are trying to keep it that way the rest of the season (I mean winning the games! We wanna keep the zero there) Bye!

Paul
4/3/2001
Cornhusker Bank (Lindsey's Basketball team) is now 2 and 0 after a thrilling 14 to 13 win Tuesday nite. A shot in the last 30 seconds wins it for Cornhusker Bank. Wing, Lindsey Anderson, puts up 2 close shots but was most noted for her scrappy defensive play. Film at 11:00.

Donna
4/3/2001
I think once we know who everyone is, we should officially start calling everybody by their new chosen names. "Raul, dinner's on the table..." Or "Hey Moon Unit, cool nose ring."

Amanda
4/3/2001
I knew it..... This game stinks...... Anyone want to join a rock band with me??? How about dressing up as butterflies to sing in our rock band... When we are done with our gig we will go shopping in some music & bookstores, ANYONE interested, please reply to ME and tell me what part of the wild ride you are interested in joining.....

Paul
4/3/2001
Way to go, Erika!! When I said remember your favorite uncle you know I meant Gary, didn't you? I knew it was just a joke. Not!! Excellent joke, you guys. But did you know Grandma was already starting to pack? :)

Amanda
4/3/2001
Gary -- So does that mean I only missed 3? And which three might they be, I will surely try again then! :)
It might mean you missed three, and it might mean you missed eight. Actually, it did mean you missed eight. :-) --Gary

Lindsey
4/3/2001
I agree, that was a mean thing to do, Karen and Erika! I just submitted my new Who Am I? Waaaaaaaay too hard, next time get questions that sort of help relate to people. I almost gave up after I was done reading the first half of ballot things. No kidding, whoever MOON UNIT is, that's mean. Who's gonna guess that? I'll try harder next time. I have another basketball game tonight at 8:30. I hope we win!! I will post the scores of tonights game and give you the highlights tomorrow! See ya, bye! :-)

Gary
4/3/2001
Just an FYI: as of this date at 4:15 pm, two people have submitted their guesses. One person missed eight (of nineteen), the other missed three. Remember if you want to re-do your guesses, feel free -- only your latest one will count. :-)

Amanda
4/3/2001
I agree with the waaaay to hard comment. Man, nothing is sticking out for me.... Now I know why my famous person to "have dinner with" or meet was so hard, because no one knew who he was. Well, who the heck is Lash La Rue? And the number of names aren't adding up with the appropriate genders, so something strange is happening. Moon Unit, you are screwing it up! :) :)

Donna
4/3/2001
Well, Sam, I just returned the scooter I was planning to give Erika for her birthday. Now I don't know what to get. I told her I was now giving her a bag of rocks. But I will probably get her something to go with it too. :-) I am trying to do the latest "Who Am I." They are waaaay too hard. I would love some hints from anyone. Raul and Moon Unit, are you listening?

Samantha
4/2/2001
Hey Karen and Erika! That was really evil what you guys did! So Donna, what are you going to get Erika for her birthday?

Amanda
4/2/2001
MAN! That was good! You got me completely. Reminds me of a Grandpa Anderson thing! I didnt do any "fools", so it wasnt on my mind. Congrats & you better look out for next year...

Karen
4/2/2001
APRIL FOOLS!!! I can't believe so many people thought we actually won a trip! We had several emails and even a call to see if it was true. Erika and I planned for a week to get the story right -- guess it worked. :) We'd better watch out next year........

Paul
4/2/2001
Congrats to Anna for being selected to go to Washington, you will love it! We will be glad to help out. Also congrats to Erika, wow!! What a great trip. Remember your favorite uncle!!

Donna
4/2/2001
Ohhhhhhh my gosh. You really got me good. What a bummer. I was so excited about you guys winning I didn't even think about the date. Dang, so you really aren't going to DisneyWorld, huh?

Karen
4/2/2001
Amanda [and Donna] -- check the date of our newsletter. :)

Donna
4/2/2001
Dear Erika, I think you should pick me to take with you on your trip to Disney World because I have never been before. If you pick me, I would buy you all kinds of treats like a Mickey Mouse hat. I would always take your side when you fight with your sister. I would bring a stash of all your favorite candy and would let you eat as much of it as you want. Next year, I would double my Girl Scout cookie order. Oh yeah, I haven't bought your birthday present yet, so if you pick me, I will buy something really cool for you like a scooter. I really really hope you pick me.

Amanda
4/2/2001
HOW COOL IS THAT ERIKA! WOW, that will be so much fun! Congratulations, when you coming to Omaha to be my good luck charm?????

The Nelsons
4/1/2001
Last week we went to eat at a local restaurant and Erika entered a drawing for a trip to Disney World. SHE WON!!!!! :) They called yesterday and we won a trip for 5 people to Disney World. We plan to go this summer when school is out -- we have an extra ticket so send an email to us telling why we should take you -- Good Luck!
